Archeological sight Monkodonja

Archeological sight Monkodonja, Rovinj

About 5 km southeast of the city of Rovinj is located an archeological finding that has been discovered in 1953. Given the research it was found out that Monkodonja was a settlement, surrounded by massive dry-stone walls, located on the flattened top and wide terraces which incurred with the extraction of stone blocks that were used for construction.

The Lim bay

The Lim Bay is considered to be one of the most beautiful landscapes in Istria. The channel itself is 10 km long and has steep cliffs on both sides. It is a part of the Lim Valley that reaches as far as Pazin to the center of Istria.

In the Palud bay, about 8 km southwest of Rovinj, is located the only special ornithological reserve in Istra. Experienced ornithologists there will find various types of wild ducks, water-hens, grebes and common snipes, woodpeckers, tawny pipits and many more bird species.
