Heritage Museum
The museum was founded in 1954. in Baroque palace of the counts of Califfi based on the initiative of Rovinj fine artists. The main goal was to make the museum a place where all cultural heritage would be gathered and where many cultural exhibitions would be held. Zora Matic was the first museum director and till nowdays his content was determined by the wishes of the museum founders.
Today, the musem has two funcionalities. It is a city gallery and a place where some valuable assets are permanently exposed, for example: collection works by old masters, contemporary Croatian arts, maritime section, archeological findings, etc. Due to space limitation and a numerous gallery activities, only a lower part of museum holdings is available for visitors today.
